But the above tactics may not work against skilled players who can immediately smell the deception that lures them to add more money on the pot. They are likely to deduce that players who call is likely playing a strong hand therefore they find it wise to fold.

The act of raising always give players the power to be in control of the game. This gives players the security and intimidation for others to fold. This is especially an advantage move when playing a really strong hand to force tight players out of the game.

In situation where the poker player is unsure whether they are ahead of their opponents, managing the pot size is better through checking or calling. On the other side, when playing against opponents who are not willing to fold, a good strategy is to control the pot than by being an aggressor and again checking or calling is better that raising the bet.

This is true since raising will further increase the pot money at stake that makes it more enticing for you opponents to come after thereby making them strongly vehement against folding.

Playing with aggression in poker can be a good thing but it must be used wisely on selected situations. A good poker strategy is to learn slowing down and to know the right timing to exercise aggression which is the perfect strategy of being one step ahead in the game of poker.
